Share of self-employed workers in Peru 2012-2021
In 2021, approximately 53 percent of the employed Peruvian population was considered self-employed, or having a job where the remuneration is directly dependent upon the profits derived from the goods and services produced. Peru is among the Latin American and Caribbean countries with the highest rates of self-employment.
