South America: number of wildfires 2019, by country

From January 1st to August 26th of 2019, Brazil has reported a record number of forest fires: over 82.2 thousand wildfire outbreaks. That is more than the total number of wildfires registered in Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia and Argentina. On the other hand, eleven wildfires were detected in French Guyana in the given period, the lowest number among all the South American countries and territories shown in this graph.
