Interest rate on deposits in Norway 2018-2023, by type of depositor
The interest rate for deposits from local government, non-financial corporations, and households all overall increased during the period from the second quarter of 2018 to the first quarter 2023, with particularly sharp increases throughout 2022 and 2023. The interest rate on local government deposits stood at 3.93 percent in the first quarter of 2023, at 2.34 percent on deposits of non-financial corporations, and at 1.81 percent on household deposits, the highest values in all types of depositors during the observed period.
