Therefore, figures do not include primary and secondary paper packaging, used to protect and store a single product unit.
The market of e-commerce tertiary paper packaging is estimated to amount to 3,061 million euros in 2019 and is forecasted to grow to 3,443 million euros in 2020. Further forecasts indicate that the revenues will reach 5,460 million euros by 2025.

The estimate takes into account the value of price per ton of paper packaging and the parcel market volume. The price per ton was generated by official CEPI data for revenue and production of the respective in-scope paper materials. The price was forecasted by using historic Eurostat data on the price development for manufacture of paper and paperboard.
The number of parcels sent are taken from pitney bowes parcel shipping index, extrapolating from data on ecommerce penetration in European countries and forecasted along the expectations for the e-commerce development.
