Debt of global nonfinancial corporations quarterly 2023

Over the last decade, the debt of nonfinancial corporations worldwide has grown significantly, increasing from 46.63 trillion U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2009 to 90 trillion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2023. Chinese corporations had the largest corporate debt in 2022, amounting to 27.7 trillion U.S. dollars.
