Expenditure per supermarket visit in the Netherlands 2019, by supermarket revenue
An average supermarket customer in the Netherlands in 2019 spent roughly 17.84 euros every time he or she visited the supermarket. In larger supermarkets, customers tended to spend more per visit than in smaller supermarkets. For example, in supermarkets with an average weekly revenue of less than 50,000 euros, customers on average spent just over 11 euros per visit. This was considerably less than in supermarkets with a higher weekly revenue.
