U.S. patients beliefs on opioid and OTC pain medication 2019
This statistic shows opinions on the use of opioids and over-the-counter (OTC) medication for pain management among patients in the U.S. as of 2019. According to this survey, 31 percent of patients indicated that they would take an OTC medication for pain but not opioids, while 18 percent reported that they would take opioids for pain relief, if needed.
