Government integrity sub-score of Egypt on the Economic Freedom Index 2000-2020
The government integrity sub-score on the Economic Freedom Index for Egypt was 34 as of 2020. This was an increase of 4.8 from 2019. In the period under review, the Egyptian government integrity value fluctuated between 28 and 37 points. Throughout the period under investigation, the government integrity score was lower than the world average. However, in comparison to the African average, the sub-score was higher between 2000 and 2009, 2012, 2016 to 2018, and 2020. According to the index, the score for government integrity in Egypt was considered "repressed" throughout the period examined.
