The type of sources used to seek information before making investment decisions differ between investors with different experience levels. Holdover account owners tended to use financial professionals to a larger extent, while experienced entrants more commonly use annual reports or company websites, or other personal research. The most used source of information among new investors was friends or family, with 38 percent. Only 24 percent of holdover account owners used this as a source of information before making investment decisions.
