The annual number of passengers of the São Paulo municipal bus system experienced a constant decrease between 2016 and 2019. Amid to COVID-19 pandemic, the ridership of busses decline significantly from 2.6 billion in 2019 to 1.5 billion in 2020. São Paulo is the biggest city in Brazil, counting over 12 million inhabitants.
