Electricity generation from renewables in Angola 2000-2020
Electricity generation from renewable energy sources in Angola reached around 10 terawatt hours in 2020. In the previous year, the electricity output was measured at 9.25 terawatt hours. Hydropower accounted for almost entirely the renewable-energy-generated electricity produced in the country. With vast rivers and river basins, Angola holds potential for hydroelectricity production, which has been developing in the last two decades. In 2000, the country registered an output of 0.9 terawatt hours in electricity generation from renewables, consisting of only hydropower that year.
