China Airlines: freight revenue tonne kilometers 2010-2020
In 2020, China Airlines reported a cargo transport volume of 6.4 billion freight revenue ton kilometers (FRTK), an increase of 19 percent compared to 2019, despite the cancellation of passenger flights due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This growth came from the use of belly space on passenger flights to support cargo deliveries. In the past decade, the Taiwanese flag carrier's FRTK has fluctuated, dropping sharply from 6.7 billion in 2010 to a low of 4.8 billion in 2012, before slowly recovering to 6.4 billion in 2020.
