With the addition of 17 new categories in 2023, the latest season of the Indian Premier League appeared to be a promising one for advertising. Categories such as e-commerce gaming and pan masala were in the lead with ad volume shares of 17 and 16 percent, respectively. Other leading categories included aerated soft drinks, biscuits, and cellular phone services signaling a departure from the dominance of tech categories during the previous year.
