Global PS4 consumer spend FY 2013-2021, by type
In less then a decade, consumer spending on PlayStation 4 underwent a total digital shift, which was accelerated by the global COVID-19 pandemic. In Sony's fiscal year 2021 (ending March 2022), only 20 percent of PS4 consumer spending was disc-based, with digital content accounting for 80 percent of revenue. This is a reversal from FY2013.
