The data from 2021 shows that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affected mostly the mental health of Portuguese women at 30.2 percent when compared to the proportion of men recorded at 22.4 percent. In total, 26.6 percent of the respondents said that their mental health was negatively affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2022, women continued to be the most affected, but shares decreased all around.
