Amount spent per capita on care by individuals with diabetes in Ghana 2019-2022
In 2022, a diabetic patient in Ghana spent an average of 53.5 Ghanaian cedis (GHS) (around 5.3 U.S. dollars) on care. Compared to the previous years under study, this was the lowest per capita annual expenditure on the illness. For instance, in 2020, an individual with diabetes made healthcare expenses amounting to over 501 GHS, roughly 49 U.S. dollars.
