Change in deforested area in the Cerrado biome in Brazil 2013-2022
The deforested area of the Cerradio biome in Brazil increased by over 25 percent in 2022, when compared to the previous year. Between 1985 and 2022, Cerrado's natural vegetation loss stood at roughly 25 percent, the highest in the country.

It is a tropical savanna ecoregion with two prevailing seasons, wet and dry. The dry season is intense and lasts from roughly April to September, the southern winter months.
