Total regional trade volume in Southern Africa 2017-2040, by country
The total trade volume within the Southern African region amounted to around 63.2 million metric tons in 2017 and was projected to reach 148.9 million metric tons in 2040. South Africa registered the highest volume, at 38 million metric tons in 2017, forecast at approximately 81 million metric tons in 2040. Other Southern African countries with higher regional trade volumes included Zambia, Angola, and Malawi.
