Supplementary notes

The full question was presented by the source as follows: "The Russian Ministry of Digital Development is developing a bill on a digital identity card on smartphones, which can be used instead of a passport in a number of cases. A digital ID does not replace a paper passport. Would you like to have a digital ID on your smartphone?"

The Russian government planned to replace paper passports with electronic IDs by 2023. However, the nationwide transition was announced to be temporarily suspended in June 2022. Starting from July 2020, electronic passports were issued in Moscow, the Moscow region, and the Tatarstan Republic.

The survey was conducted in 376 settlements in all regions of Russia.
