Visitor number to Hyeonchoong-sa shrine in South Korea 2017-2022
Hyeonchoong-sa, also called Hyeonchungsa Shrine, is a shrine near the city Asan dedicated to naval commander Yi Sun-sin, bearing his portrait. He defended the Joseon Dynasty of Korea against the Japanese invaders during the Imjin war of 1592 to 1598 and gained national fame for his exploits. Celebrated as a hero, there is also a statue of his in Gwanghwamun Plaza in South Korea's capital city Seoul.
