Immoderate alcohol consumption in Portugal 2022, by type and gender
In Portugal, in 2022, mild intoxication was the most prevalent type of immoderate alcohol consumption among young people aged 18 years old, having affected 65 percent of them. Severe intoxication was the least prevalent consumption pattern, having occurred to 37 percent of men and 35 percent of women. It was binge drinking that displayed the highest difference between genders, as 56 percent of men had had this alcohol-related behavior, in comparison with almost 52 percent of women.
