Global share of cumulative metals demand met by recycling 2050, by metal
By 2050, it is expected that there will be a substantial cumulative demand for metals worldwide that can be sourced from recycling. The largest cumulative demand that can be met through recycling is expected to be aluminum, with an estimated total of 61 percent of demand met through recycling in 2050. It is anticipated that a 59 percent share of global copper demand will be through recycling in 2050.
