Volume of traffic on national waterways in India FY 2023, by route
In financial year 2023, the busiest route of the national waterways in India was NW-91 (Shastri river–Jaigad creek system), with traffic of 33.9 million metric tons. It was followed distantly by NW-10 (Amba river), at 28.5 million metric tons. During the same period, the total volume of goods transported on Indian national waterways was around 126.2 million metric tons.
