U.S.: change in public transport single-trip median base fare 2020-2022, by mode
Significant changes occurred in public transport median single-trip fares from 2020 to 2022 in the United States. Streetcar railways saw a 38 percent increase in single-trip fares. While commuter rail, ferryboat, and cable car saw 30, 23.2, and 14.3 percent increases respectively. Heavy rail, light rail, and commuter bus saw less significant changes with 2.9, 4, and 7.7 percent decreases in fares. Bus single-trip fares saw the most significant decrease in prices with 14.3 percent. All other modes of transport saw no change in single-trip fare.
