Number of mosques and worship corners in Egypt 2021, by type
In 2021, Egypt had 79,454 governmental mosques and 21,585 governmental worship corners. Compared to the number of civil mosques (34,344) and worship corners (15,332), those were significantly higher. In the same year, the governorate of Behera registered the highest number of civil mosques, while Sharkia ranked first in terms of the number of governmental mosques.
