Public perception of police abuse in El Salvador 2023
During December 2023, around 16.1 percent of respondents have seen a police officer physically abuse another person. In contrast, only 1.6 percent were victims of police abuse themselves. Some of the most common crimes in El Salvador are robbery, theft, and extortion.
