Data have been collected through a survey that covered around 238,000 rural workers from 31 provinces, 1,561 districts and 8,480 villages.

A migrant laborer is defined as someone who leaves their place of origin for a period of more than six months in a bid to find work elsewhere. They either stay in their home province or move to another province in their search for employment.
