Global proved coal reserves by type 2010-2020
Global proved reserves of coal reached 1.07 trillion metric tons in 2020. The majority of these reserves are anthracite and bituminous coal, at over 750 billion metric tons. As of that year, the life years of coal is predicted to be a about 139 years at the current rate of production. The United States, Russia, and Australia are the countries with the largest proven coal reserves.
