Change in U.S. oil imports by country 2011-2013
This statistic shows the change in oil imports from selected countries into the United States between 2011 and 2013. Oil imports to the U.S. from Brazil decreased 42% from 2011 to 2013. There was a decreasing trend in imports into the U.S. from emerging countries. U.S. oil imports may be falling due to hydraulic fracturing within the United States that unleashed previously inaccessible oil as well as high gasoline costs and more fuel efficient cars.
