Travel purpose trends at UK airports 2002-2019

This graph shows the different reasons that people travel by air from selected UK airports between 2002 and 2019. This general UK trend shows that holiday and business travel fell as percentage of UK travel purposes. Business trips fell from making up 24 percent of all air travel in 2002 to 17 percent in 2019. Visiting family and friends became more common.
