This statistic shows the amount given out in grants annually by the central United Kingdom (UK) government to Passenger Transport Executives in Great Britain between 2000/01 and 2018/19. The highest expenditure on PTE grants amounted to 414 million British pounds in fiscal year 2003/04. By 2018/2019, the grant expenditure dropped to five million British pounds, mainly due to a new franchise agreement due to which all subsidies are now paid directly to the train operator.
