This statistic depicts the opinion of California adults on their support or opposition against paid leave by selected characteristics, as of 2003. Of all respondents, 83.1 percent of those born in the United States and 89.7 percent of those born abroad, supported paid leave. In 2004, California implemented a program that allowed those working in California to receive up to 55 percent of their usual weekly wage for family or medical leave.
