Taiwan: population growth 2010-2030

In 2023, the growth rate of the population of Taiwan ranged at around 6.7 per thousand inhabitants (per mill). This positive effect was due to a large number of people migrating back to Taiwan after many had left the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. The natural growth rate, which denotes population growth not including the effects of net migration, was at around -2.99 per mill in 2023.
