This statistic displays the percentage of primary Sjögren syndrome patients in the U.S. and the EU with work or activity impairments, between 2011 and 2013. Some 43 percent of primary Sjögren syndrome patients in the United States experienced activity impairment. Sjögren's syndrome is characterized by a person's white blood cells attacking moisture-producing glands which can cause dry eyes and mouth, as well as fatigue and joint pains. This condition is considered a chronic autoimmune disease.
