The cinema industry in Poland is growing and the number of cinema visitors is increasing. Cinemagoers tend to be adults below 40 years old, and while commercial cinemas are generally more popular, particularly those in their thirties are likely to go to local or studio cinemas. Ticket prices are one of the most important factors that people consider when choosing a cinema to visit, along with the location and atmosphere. The Polish film industry is alive and well, churning out critically acclaimed productions that impress cinema audiences worldwide.
Cinema prices – low and stable
Compared to other EU countries, Poland boasts some of the lowest cinema ticket prices – about half as high as most Western European countries, and nearly one third of the average price in Denmark. In Central Eastern Europe, prices are lower in a handful of countries including Croatia and Russia. The average cinema ticket price in Poland has been remarkably stable, whereas worldwide and in most other European countries it has been steadily increasing.
