Leading travel and leisure companies in the UK in 2015, by market value
The ranking considers companies from a variety of sectors within the travel and leisure industry in the UK, including the travel agency, passenger transport, gambling, foodservice and accommodation markets. The companies with the highest market value tend to be in the passenger transport and the food and hospitality sectors.
Compass Group is a multinational contract foodservice and support service provider. Although a British company, most of the Compass Group’s revenues are generated from business conducted in North America.
International Consolidated Airlines is the sixth largest airline in the world and the result of a merger between British Airways and Iberia, the main airlines of the UK and Spain. The group is also parent company of two other airlines, Aer Lingus and Vueling.
Whitbread, owner of Costa Coffee and the Premier Inn hotel chain, places third in the ranking with a market value of 9.5 billion British pounds.
