Number of prisoners in Finland 2022, by prisoner group
As of 2022, there were 3,052 inmates in all prisons in Finland. Most of the prisoners were sentenced prisoners who serve a sentence of unconditional fixed-term or life imprisonment. Furthermore, there were 668 remand prisoners in pre-trial detention, and 30 fine default prisoners who serve a conversion sentence for unpaid fines.
