This figure shows the level of freedom regarding alcohol consumption restrictions in the European Union in 2016. Based on a maximum value of 30 (the state being the least free) Finland and Sweden scored 25, followed by Ireland (15). Spain received a score of zero, making it one of the most liberal country in the EU regarding alcohol consumption. In Spain there is no statutory closing time for bars and there are no governmental prohibitions on alcohol promotions.
