Netherlands: hours worked in insurance and pension funds 1995-2018

In 2018, Dutch residents worked more than 90 million hours in insurances and pension funds. This is a decrease when compared to the previous year. This includes jobs in life insurance, non-life insurance (a European equivalent to property and casualty insurance in the United States) and reinsurance but also jobs in pension funding. The source defines the total amount of hours worked per year as those that employees actually worked, and does not include days off due to holiday, illness, pregnancy or parental leave. The numbers do include overtime, both paid and unpaid.
