Southern Company's energy supply share FY 2023, by source
Gas was the major source of energy generation of Southern Company, accounting for 54 percent of total generation in 2023. That same year, the Atlanta-based electric utility's second most used source was nuclear energy. Hydropower accounted for just three percent of the company's energy mix.
