Balance sheet composition of the banking industry in Switzerland 2022, by type bank
Assets held by big banks accounted for the largest share of the total balance sheet of the banking industry in Switzerland in 2022. More than 40 percent of all assets were held by big banks. They were followed by cantonal banks, which held roughly 22.8 percent of all assets.
