In 2022, the total import value of cosmetics, skincare, and beauty products to Singapore amounted to 3.08 billion U.S. dollars. Singapore's cosmetics and personal care imports had been increasing in value in the past ten years.

Singapore's beauty market

Singapore imported approximately 1.39 billion U.S. dollars worth of cosmetics from France, making it the leading country for cosmetic imports to Singapore in 2021, followed by Japan and the USA. This is caused by the well-established beauty market and brands that originate from those countries.

The Korean wave

The popularity of Korean beauty products has risen worldwide. Based on a survey conducted in 2019 on the origins of personal care products in Singapore, a majority of the respondents stated that they use K-beauty products since they meet their skincare needs. The rise in popularity could also be attributed to the marketing decisions the brands made towards the Asian demographic.
