Monthly hotel room occupancy rate in the Canary Islands (Spain) 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted tourism during 2020, and therefore, hotel occupancy in the Canary Islands. Between 2019 and 2020, hotel occupancy in the Canary archipelago fell 30 percentage points. The busiest months of 2020 were January and February when the pandemic had not yet affected the tourism sector in Spain. During the summer, the most popular season, hotel occupancy did not reach 50%.
