Brazil: usage of functions in selected mobile messaging apps 2023

As of January 2023, over 89 percent of the smartphone users surveyed in Brazil claimed to used WhatsApp to exchange text messages. Meanwhile, 71 percent of respondents claimed to use Facebook Messenger and Instagram (over its Direct channel). Overall, WhatsApp remains the most used messenger in the country and for all other tasks among its competitors, as the other 81 percent of respondents claimed to use it for exchanging images and another 74 percent to exchange voice messages.
