Distribution of beds in residential facilities in Italy 2015, by service and area
This statistic depicts the distribution of residential facilities’ beds per 1,000 inhabitants in Italy as of 2015, by type of service and geographic area. Overall, the rate of beds for health care services was higher than the one for social support services all over Italy. However, a great gap is noticeable between the North and other areas of Italy concerning the number of beds for health care services. For instance, the rate was of 7.6 beds per 1,000 inhabitants in the North-East, while it was equal to 1.9 beds per 1,000 inhabitants in the South.
