Dongwon Inc., established in 1969, is a South Korean conglomerate with a number of affiliates including Dongwon F&B which is a comprehensive food supplier and well known for its canned tuna products. In order to strengthen its tuna business in Europe, Dongwon acquired 60 percent of shares of S.C.A SA, a tuna processing company, from the government of Senegal in 2011 and invested about 26 million euros to construct large scale factories in the region in 2013.
