This statistic displays the per capita consumption of alcohol in the Netherlands in 2016, by gender (in liters of pure alcohol). In this year, the Dutch on average consumed 12 liters of pure alcohol per person. In general, men drank more than women. The per capita consumption of men in the Netherlands in 2016 reached just under 17 liters, whereas the per capita consumption of Belgian women amounted to nearly six liters.
