Switzerland: evaluation of payment methods

This statistic illustrates a consumer evaluation of payment methods in Switzerland in 2017, by payment type. Respondents where asked to rate several aspects of payment features on a scale from one (very poor) to seven (very good). Respondents deemed debit cards to be the most secure method of payment with a score of 5.75. For all other features cash was still seen as king especially in terms of cost and acceptance.

This question was phrased by the source as follows: "How do you rate the various payment methods with regard to the following aspects? Here it is irrelevant whether you personally possess this payment method or not."
The interviews were conducted face-to-face at respondents’ own homes in the form of computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI). The second part of the survey involved the keeping of a payments diary.
