Chikungunya cases in Peru 2015-2023
The number of cases of chikungunya fever in Peru has been fluctuating in the last few years. In 2023, chikungunya cases amounted to 139, down from 595 infections reported a year earlier. The highest number of cases during the period analyzed was recorded in 2015, with close to 7,000 infections, Peru ranked as the Latin American country with the fourth-highest number of chikungunya cases, after Brazil, Paraguay, and Guatemala.
