APAC: average economic loss through cyber attacks by type 2017

The statistic shows the average economic loss through cyber attacks in the Asia Pacific region in 2017, broken down by type of loss. In that year, the average loss for large-sized companies amounted to approximately 30 million U.S. dollars in total, from which 17.2 million U.S. dollars were induced losses, 9.7 million U.S. dollars were indirect losses and 3.4 million U.S. dollars were direct losses.

Figures are based on a survey that involved 1,300 business and IT decision makers ranging from mid-sized organizations (250 to 499 employees) to large-sized organizations (more than 500 employees) in 13 economies: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
